 So my country that I hope to represent is Japan. First off, I'll say why I thought of Japan. First, is her dress. Her dress looks like a silk kimono. The floral patterns on the pillows as well as her dress also reminded me of Japan, since one of the first thoughts when I think of Japan is the Japanese Cherry Blossom. I also chose the picture because again, it tells a story. She's dressed more fancier than a normal Japanese person. She's in a room where there is gold on the walls and pictures. This picture made me think that she's like a Japanese concubine or a geisha, there to serve the emperor or another potential client. The look on her face hates her job, but she realizes she must do it in order to get by. She awaits her client and as every second that goes by, a little part of her dies out of the anxiousness. Hope you judges like it!! |

Cobie: I really like how you portrayed a culture through fashion and clothing. I like the idea of the silk and floral clothes to relate to Japan. I think that it works well here, but I also feel like the setting of the photo doesn't mesh with your overall idea.

Stephen: Wow you look incredible! I can also see a hint of Japan which is the main focus of this photoshoot. There's not a whole lot, but at least some is in the really nice outfit. But as Cobie mentioned, that's where it stops as the background has 0 connection with Japan whatsoever.
